Kia ora koutou, ko Maddy taku ingoa, no Õtaki ahau. I grew up in Õtaki attending Waitohu School and Õtaki College and working for Ruth Pretty all summer and university holidays! We bought the old school house from MoE in 2014. My husband Dan and I live there with our three children in years 1,3 and 5 plus our menagerie of animals! You may have seen our occasionally escapee chickens.
I started working at Te Horo School as a teacher aide in T2021. My previous work experience pre-kids has been in the health and equalities sector in Scotland and working with adults with autism. Throughout the pre-school years with my tamariki I attended Playcentre in Õtaki and this experience has been invaluable for my job as a teacher aide. I love travelling, playing sport, going to gigs and I love being in the garden. Reviving our lovely school orchard and vege patch is an awesome extra project I’m involved in at school.
