Peter Nolan

Teacher Room 11

Kia ora Te Horo Whanau, ko Peter Nolan taku ingoa.
I joined the Te Horo School Community at the beginning of 2019. This year I am a Year 7 and 8 classroom teacher in Room 11. I have been teaching for more than 20 years including teaching posts in two other countries, England and Qatar. I love travelling and exploring different countries and cultures and enjoy integrating and sharing some of my adventures and experiences with the students when I teach. I enjoy teaching Maths and Science as well as woodwork for Technology and P.E. Having grown up on a sheep farm, I was attracted to teaching at Te Horo School for its small country feel and location and I loved having a chicken wander through the classroom on my first day. I also remember on my first visit the way students of all ages were happily playing together on the field with the seniors encouraging and involving the junior students in their play. An awesome attitude which continues to be present in the school today during break times. I live in Levin with my wife and two children and a couple of cats and enjoy spending time on the beach, in the garden or reading a good book.
